Angles and Views

Saturday 10 June
Market Square Victoria - 10am - 2 Hours
Angles and Point of View in photography refer to the way in which the photographer positions the camera in relation to the subject to capture an image. The angle and view can greatly impact the composition, mood, and message of the photograph. In this session we'll be looking at how we can challenge ourselves to find strong compositions using new viewpoints and perspectives when out with our camera, and how different angles can tell different photographic stories.

A great introduction to black and white photography. All new learning which has given me a better appreciation of how black and white photographs work. Useful suggestions on which colours work well in b&w photographs. The group was a nice mix of less experienced and more experienced photographers. Ron does take time to attend to each person in the group individually so no one feels that have not had some learning of particular value to them.

I enjoyed hearing about the Exposure Triangle and how the different "sides" of the triangle affect the others. Some useful advice on shooting birds in flight. It was also very helpful for Ron to give camera -specific teachings for each participant,

I am so impressed with Ron's approach. He quickly understood our level of competence, and is skilled on responding flexibly in response to our questions. His answers to our questions were understandable. He gave us some doable practical challenges and gave appropriate and helpful feedback. He was encouraging throughout.
